The most famous traditional Satsuma food, which brings out the fullest taste of fish!
A representative local cuisine of Kagoshima, Satsumaage (216 yen~/ 100 g). Koichi Arimura, the third-generation owner who was designated as a Food Meister from the Japanese MAFF (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries), carefully selects white-meat fish. There are many kinds available, and the sweetness typical of Satsumaage is very soft. All items are made with Arimuraya’s unique methods, such as Edamame-ten (green soybeans), which uses mayonnaise as an ingredient, and Ninjin-ten (carrot), which uses carrot cut into large pieces. It is nice not only as a snack or part of a meal, but also as a side dish for drinking sake.
Yasai-ten (vegetable) (216 yen per 100g) uses a lot of ingredients like Chinese chives, carrot, and onion.
Ikageso (squid’s legs) (216 yen per 100g) is intentionally made thin to let you enjoy the texture of squid’s legs.
They are fried in the shop’s deep-fryer, so you can always get your food fresh and crisp.
You can ask the staff to help select an item according to your tastes.
