Enjoy rice koji sweetsat a tasteful storehouse♡

This restaurant serves original ice cream and drinks using rice koji (mold used to ferment rice, soybeans, and other ingredients as a starter to make sake, miso, soy sauce, and other products) in a renovated storehouse originally built in the early Taisho period. All items are gentle to the body and have a natural sweetness. Its taste is addictive after just one bite. A long-established shop, Minemurajozo, is adjacent to the restaurant, where miso, stock bags, and other related items are sold.

The staff makes each menu item fresh after receiving the order. You can sample the drink you are interested in. Don’t hesitate to ask the friendly staff.

There is a roomy eat-in space with sofas and tables on tatami mats on the second floor. It is an attractive setting to relax and enjoy the food.

Miso ice cream (430 yen), which uses sweet miso kneaded into rice koji ice cream.

Non-alcoholic amazake (a sweet drink made from fermented rice), Plain (1,080 yen each), has an irresistibly smooth texture and a rich taste. You can drink it plain, or mix with your favorite juice.

The adjacent space is Minemurajozo’s direct sales depot. It is a long-established maker of miso (fermented soybean paste) founded in 1905, and sells not only miso, but also stock bags and rice.

The stock bag can be used to make miso soup along with the shop’s miso. It is a popular souvenir, since it makes it possible to reproduce the taste of a luxurious Japanese-style restaurant just by pouring hot water.
